As a result of SEND reforms an EHCP has now replaced the Statement of Special Educational Needs (SEN) and the Learning Difficulties Assessment (LDA). There will be more emphasis on the views of children, young people and their parents in decision making. Professionals will be expected to work with families about the things that are important to them in order to help them achieve their aspirations and outcomes. EHCPs will be reviewed annually.
